Day 2: Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park

After enjoying an early breakfast at 6:30 am at your lodge, you will proceed to the Kibale park headquarters for an exciting Kibale chimpanzee briefing at 8 am. This briefing will be conducted by a knowledgeable park ranger who will guide you on the dos and don’ts of this memorable experience. Following the briefing, you will venture into the jungle on foot in search of chimpanzees. Despite being smaller in size than their cousins, the Mountain gorillas, chimpanzees are known for their charm and intelligence, living in communities of about 20-150 individuals.
The chimpanzee trek in Kibale typically takes about 2-5 hours, depending on the location of the chimps. Visitors have over a 95% chance of spotting chimpanzees in Kibale Park, making it far better than any other place in Uganda or Rwanda. When encountering the chimps, you will have a magical hour to observe these amazing human-like creatures, and you are free to take photos as you wish, although flashless cameras are encouraged.

While in Kigali, you have the unique opportunity to explore the Genocide Memorial Center and visit the historic Hotel Des Mille Collines, famously known as “Hotel Rwanda”.
