Package Inclusion
This safari package includes transportation in a 4×4 safari vehicle, accommodation and meals as specified in the itinerary, and one Gorilla permit per person, which costs $1500 and must be paid in advance. Additionally, the package provides one Golden Monkey permit per person, en-route lunches, a city tour, and the services of an English-speaking driver/guide. Throughout the safari, each guest will also receive a bottle of mineral water.
Package Exclusion
The package does not cover personal expenses such as airfare, visa fees, drinks, laundry, tips for local guides, telephone charges, porter fees during trekking, personal insurance, shopping bills, and cigars.

Day-To-Day Program
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your accommodation in Kigali for a brief rest. After settling in, you’ll enjoy a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, where you can sample some delicious Rwandan cuisine.
In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, approximately 2.5 hours from Kigali. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your chosen accommodation near the park. In the evening, you’ll attend a briefing about the upcoming 4-Day Gorilla Trekking Safaris experience.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Your day will begin early with a hearty breakfast at the lodge, followed by a transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trek as part of the 4-Day Gorilla Trekking Safaris. You’ll then set out on a trek through the lush forest to find one of the habituated mountain gorilla families.
This exhilarating experience allows you up to one hour to observe and photograph the gorillas in volcanoes National Park. After your trek, you’ll return to your lodge for a hearty lunch and some relaxation. The evening will be spent back at your lodge, where you can enjoy optional activities such as a cultural performance or a guided walk.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Boat Cruise on Lake Kivu

The morning of your 4-Day Gorilla Trekking Safaris will begin with an exciting trek to track the beautiful golden monkeys, unique to the Virunga ranges. These striking primates inhabit the bamboo forests at the base of the mountains, making them relatively easy to find and the trek quite light and manageable.
In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Gisenyi, located along the picturesque shores of Lake Kivu. The journey time is approximately 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on the lake, where you can observe diverse bird species and take in the tranquil waters.
Day 4: Return to Kigali and Departure

On the final day of your 4-Day Gorilla Trekking Safaris, you’ll start with breakfast at your lodge before checking out and beginning your journey back to Kigali. The drive takes approximately 4 hours. If time allows, you may take a brief city tour, visiting notable sites such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial or local markets.
